Conference releases declaration in solidarity with Kashmir

At the end of a one-day conference of “Kashmir Black Day 2021”, participants issued a declaration in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Here is the text of the declaration:

We, the undersigned , Ngos and individuals from Malaysia dan the Asean People’s Advocacy for Kashmir , on the commemoration of the Kashmir Black Day 2021, hereby declare :

Aware of the dark days of hundred of thousands of Kashmiris were massacred by the India Occupation Forces on the 27th October 1947

Reaffirm our position that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved through dialogue between the parties concern and within the framework of the relevant United Nations resolutions,

Noting that The Kashmir dispute is one of the oldest unresolved international problems in the world and has been on the agenda of the U.N. Security Council (UNSC) since 1948.

Cognizant of the fact that the Kashmir issue is an internationally recognized issue of a disputed territory , as proven of the numerous of the  UN resolutions, that the Kashmiri  people should be given the right to determine their own future,

Aware of the Indian illegal action of the abrogation of Article 370 & 35 A on the August 5, 2019  , which has nullified the autonomous status of Kashmir into a full fledge Indian territory,

Deeply concern of the Kashmir conflict is a rivalry of a regional race for nuclear warheads between India and Pakistan that historically  have occasioned three wars between the two rivals , if the dispute on Kashmir is not resolved.

Reiterate that resolving the core issue, i.e., Kashmir must be the key effort  and the top priority if a permanent solution is to be achieved.

Emphasize that the  demilitarization of the state of Kashmir and the holding of a plebiscite under impartial control to determine its future is the preresequite to a lasting peace. The LoC ( Line of Control ) was supposed to a temporary separation but since is mapping serves only to shield violations of human rights as a separation wall by the India occupation,

Recognizing that Kashmir is home for the Kashmiris with its own history and stood as a sovereign nation with its own legitimacy.

Observing that tyranny and oppression by the occupier of Kashmir will prevail and hopes for peace in accordance with justice and rationality in Kashmir will be bleak if the dispute is ignored by India.

Confirming that the future of the people of Kashmir must be decided on their own interest and self determine by their own free will.

Noting how alliance between the great democracy (U.S.) and the so-called largest democracy in the world (India) is hypocrit when universal principles, democratic values and human rights are not only completely ignored but tramppled when it relates to the rights of Kashmiris.

Reminding that a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute must supercede the selling missiles to a country that threatens international peace and security.

Calling India and Pakistan to resolve the dispute while associating the genuine Kashmiri leadership with negotiations as was originally promised by them at the U.N.

Reaffirm any solution for the  Kashmir must consult the people of Kashmir towards implementing the UN resolution for a plebiscite.

Endorse the urgent need to end the violence and the need to ensure  Kashmiris to sort out their own affairs and determine their own future.

We declare:

  1. Our unequivocal solidarity with all the people of Kashmir to seek justice and right to self determination,
  2. The Malaysian people and the people of Asean to support for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute through a plebiscite.
  3. The demand for the demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir.
  4. Stop the Hindutva agenda and demographic change of Jammu and Kashmir .
  5. Stop the violence and human rights violation by Indian troops against the civilians of Kashmir.

We call:

  1. The international community to assert the UN resolution for a plebiscite towards self-determination for the people of Kashmir.

The international community to pressure India to halt the atrocities, brutal oppressions and the violation of human rights of the Kashmiris.

  1. The UNSC to reinvigorate the resolution on the Kashmir dispute and to implement without delay the plebiscite to reflect the will of the people of Kashmir.
  2. The OIC to continue to represent the ummah to voice their concern on the injustice and oppression on the Kashmiris under the occupation of India,
  3. The government of Malaysia to voice its concern and push for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute .
  4. The members of parliament of Malaysia to initiate a caucus for the Kashmir cause.
  5. The NGOs and the masses in Malaysia across creed and race to raise the awareness and support the call for the rights of the Kashmiris
  6. The Malaysian and international media to play a role in raising the Kashmir issue to the masses.
